WHAT I WORE: BIRTHDAY EDITION

It’s been a minute since I did a fashion post, so I thought I’d do a little round-up of all my birthday fits this year!

In classic Chloe style, two out of three were an all-black moment, but I love how each look still has a completely different vibe.

I had so much fun putting these outfits together, so here’s a little breakdown of each…

Kicking things off with Look 1, the first instalment of my birthday celebrations.

The motive was an intimate dinner that my partner planned and surprised me with, and I felt like this fit was the perfect vibe for the occasion.

We went to a modern, dimly lit restaurant that served my favourite cuisine...Turkish!

I was going for a sexy, sultry look, but something a little more creative than just a classic LBD.

I wanted to create structure and incorporate texture with this outfit.

Starting with the oversized black blazer, it had padded, structured shoulders and I sized way up to get more of that boxy feel.

I then wanted to bring the shape back with the rest of the outfit, so I went for a sheer black cowl-neck top and some velvet lace shorts.

The combination of these two pieces worked perfectly for creating that cinched waist, as both the top and the shorts cut off in just the right place.

I then opted for sheer 15-denier black tights and a classic patent pointed heel.

Topped off with one of my favourite little black patent evening bags, a slick pony and a diamanté choker and earrings for some "razzle dazzle", the overall look felt edgy and sexy, but still comfortable enough to put away some grub!

We had such a good night and I love, love, loved this look!

Look 2 was for my actual birthday, and I knew I wanted to make a statement with this one…

The plan was a boujee birthday dinner with my favourite girlie - my mum! We went to Novikov (easily my favourite restaurant ever, hands down).

I’d been a few years ago on my birthday to the Italian restaurant, but this time we went to the Asian one and it was *chef’s kiss*.

Now, Novikov is not a cheap night out, so I knew the outfit had to match the energy.

While browsing online for outfits, I stumbled across this lace number and immediately knew it had to be my birthday fit.

The dress is actually completely see-through and, if you’ve ever been to Novikov before (especially the lounge bar downstairs) you’ll know it was the perfect statement piece for the occasion.

I ordered a really inexpensive black bodysuit from Amazon, one of those shapewear ones so the cinch was cinching, and it worked perfectly underneath, almost as if the dress came that way.

For the rest of the look, I kept things simple. I didn’t even opt for any jewellery because the dress was already doing the talking, and the sleeves were long and flared so they covered my wrists anyway.

I went for my signature curly blow-dry, some comfy black heels so I could enjoy my night pain-free, and a little neutral glam: a nude lip and letting my lashes do the talking.

Of course, the perfect accessory for me is always a cocktail. And if you’re a Cosmopolitan girl like me and happen to go to Novikov anytime soon, I highly recommend the Rosita.

I guarantee it’ll be your new fave!

Look 3 was the main event – my birthday dinner and drinks with my friends.

From the beginning I had the theme set in stone: “My Super Sweet Sixteen x2” (because I was turning 32… get it?!).

The vibe was very clear in my head – pink (duh!), pearls, soft shimmer and diamantés.

I knew the outfit had to incorporate all of those elements and, despite a meltdown or two along the way, I really loved how it came together in the end.

The part of the outfit I knew would stress me out the most was the dress. I’d originally ordered a different one which, despite having a corset back, didn’t fit (honestly let's not talk about it).

Luckily I already had all my accessories sorted – the bag, earrings, necklace and shoes.

So about a week before, I went back to the drawing board and ordered this dress along with a cute matching headband.

The dress was from Oh Polly and, if I’m being honest, I wasn’t completely in love with it.

But once everything was styled together with the accessories, it did exactly what it needed to do.

I loved the Bardot neckline and the fact that it was quite plain, which meant the rest of the look could really shine.

The only thing I didn’t love was the fabric – it was modal, which didn’t quite give the “birthday” energy I had imagined, but by that point it was too late to order an alternative.

My accessories were definitely my favourite part of the outfit and really captured the whole theme.

The bag was the moment, completely made of pearls, and I paired it with a pearl headband to tie everything together.

The necklace had to be my favourite piece though.

It was such a statement: a mix of pearls and diamantés in a really unusual design that instantly elevated the whole look.

For shoes, I learned my lesson the hard way last year when I wore a gorgeous pair that absolutely destroyed my feet and I spent most of the night in pain.

This year I chose comfort over suffering and went for a simple pair of silver mules to complement the necklace.

My earrings were a delicate pearl and diamanté drop pair, which finished the look perfectly.

For hair, I knew I wanted something glamorous but still effortless, so I went for a side part with soft curls.

This birthday reminded me just how much I LOVE creating looks and putting outfits together.

Each one was curated to make a statement, and a testament to how the right styling, textures, and details can elevate not just an outfit, but a birthday moment too.
