Pinch, punch, first day of the month! And the first actual blog post on CHLOEMYKEL.COM — eek! As a self-confessed beauty product junkie, I thought: what better way to kick things off than with the first instalment of my monthly Beauty Favourites series?
Each month I’ll be picking 10 products I’ve been obsessed with — the things I’ve used religiously and couldn’t put down. Expect a juicy mix of makeup, skincare, body care and beauty tools.
Let’s get into November’s favourites… and spoiler alert: it’s giving hydration, hydration, hydration.
VIEVE — BOUNCE BALM
You’ll notice a theme in this month’s line-up — glossy, juicy, hydrated. This balm is a fairly new discovery for me but I’ve been hooked for months, so it had to be in here.
It delivers ridiculous shine and intense hydration without the stickiness. So many lip balms look cute but do nothing — this one actually moisturises. If you love super juicy lips that feel baby-soft all day (especially in winter), this is that girl.
BYOMA — HYDRATING RECOVERY OIL
See? Hydration strikes again. This has quickly become my skin’s winter saviour.
Even though I’m combination/oily, the cold weather + using Tretinoin a few times a week has left my skin needing reinforcements. Enter this silky, luxurious (but not greasy) face oil.
It replenishes the skin beautifully and locks in moisture without heaviness. I press it in as the last step of my nighttime routine — instant nourishment.
BEAUTY OF JOSEON — REVIVE EYE SERUM
Recommended to me during a facial — and if it’s Korean skincare, you know I trust it implicitly.
First of all, the tube is huge. It’s going to last forever because you only need the tiniest amount.
Texture-wise, it’s a creamy serum with a gentle retinol that actually works. Since using it, my under-eyes look smoother, brighter and more hydrated. I’m genuinely impressed.
RHODE — PEPTIDE LIP SHAPE
Let me be honest — when I first saw this online, I was convinced I’d hate it. Now? I can’t stop using it.
It’s a chubby, hydrating satin lip pencil that gives the perfect soft definition for no-makeup makeup days. Traditional liners looked too intense on a bare face, but this gives the most subtle, balanced, effortless shape.
I have the shade Balance — the perfect neutral brown that goes with literally every gloss. And it actually lasts, despite being so creamy. Miss Bieber… she knew what she was doing.
REFY — TINTED LIP GLOSS
If you love gloss, this is for you. If you hate sticky gloss… skip it.
It’s giving MAC Lipglass energy, but modernised. Affordable, glossy, and the shade range is insane. My top picks: Blush, Taupe and Oat — nude lip heaven. The clear shade is perfect for layering too.
I already know I’m going to end up collecting more. It’s addictive.
GLOSSIER — PRIMING MOISTURISER
Game. Changer. This makes your makeup sit perfectly.
Think Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream vibes — but without the CT price tag. It’s rich, hydrating, and an incredible base for foundation. My combination skin LOVES it.
I used to swear by the Primark dupe of Bobbi Brown’s Face Base… but she’s been temporarily replaced. This one is that good.
RHODE — BARRIER BUTTER
Back to the barrier.Another Rhode product that pleasantly surprised me.
My skin barrier was struggling from retinol dryness, and this fixed everything. It’s buttery (as the name suggests), thick but not suffocating, and works overnight magic.
I use it either all over at night or just on areas prone to irritation (around my mouth and nose). You need the tiniest amount, so even the mini size lasts ages. You can also use it on the body — if that’s your plan, get the full size for value.
BUBBLE — COSMIC SILK HYDRATING MILKY TONER
This might actually be my favourite of the whole list.
I kept seeing the Rhode Glazing Milk everywhere, but I also kept hearing this was a dupe — and half the price. So I tried it first… and WOW.
It’s thick, milky, silky, and feels expensive. This + Rhode Barrier Butter = skin SAVED. Within a few nights my skin went from flaky and irritated to plump and glowing. I’m scared to be without it now.
MORPHE — SIGNATURE LIP PENCIL
I am a lip product connoisseur — and extremely picky. These pencils? Perfection.
Creamy but long-wearing, pigmented but not drying, and the shade range… honestly incredible. Bubble Bath and Berry Cola are my current obsessions. If you need a go-to lip liner formula, this is the one.
NYX — LIFT & SNATCH BROW TINT PEN
I didn’t think I’d ever enjoy a brow pen — I’ve always been a brow pencil babe — but this proved me wrong.
It gives the soft, fluffy, realistic hair-stroke brow of dreams. And the most impressive part? The nib never dries out. It stays saturated for months.
It layers beautifully with pencil and gel for a fuller look, but also works perfectly on bare skin. No complaints from me.
